5 weeks and growing!

Sorry I havent been very good at keeping this blog up - it's hard to find the time, but I will do my best to update with pictures and stories as much as I can! Promise!

Declan was 5 weeks last Friday, and it's amazing how much he has already grown. We had his one month appt. last week and he is already up to 10.1 pounds - he is gaining weight like a champ! He is already out of his 0-3 month onesies too! I picked up the "newborn" sized onesies the other day to bag up, and they already seem so tiny. It's crazy how much bigger they get in a matter of a few weeks.

He is becoming more and more alert with every day too. He has turned over from his tummy to his back three times - he's going to be a mover for sure! He can follow our voices now, even from across the room, which is fun to see. He is starting to smile. Mosty at random times, but we have gotten him to smile on cue a few times too, which is just the best thing to experience. He can grab onto toys now (especially his pacifier when he decides he doesnt want it anymore!) and keep a firm grip. He is starting to enjoy his toys too. We just place it in front of him and tell him about it, but he loves to just stare and try to grab them! He loves to look outside at the sky. He always finds a window when we are inside playing and could stare out it for hours!

3 weeks old!

Our little guy is 3 weeks old today - and he already has gotten so much bigger. We are having so much fun with him - and I feel like he is really beginning to recognize who we are. He grabbed Tony's face last night, he's smiling more, and sticking out his tongue (which is hilarious!)

He is such a snuggle bug too, which I just love! He will snuggle up in my arms and it's so hard to put him down! We have some more pics....

Declan and I visited Brooke's little boy (who is a week old today!), Finn! I couldn't believe how much bigger Declan seemed already compared to him!

Almost Two Weeks Old!!

Tomorrow Declan will be two weeks old! It's crazy how fast it has already gone. I remember people telling us how fast time goes, but wow....it sure has! We have had so much fun with this little guy. Tony was able to stay home the first week, which was great. We hung out, got to know him, went on a few outings and doctors appointments, and learned alot!!

Declan is really a great baby. He rarely cries (except for bath time!) and is sleeping all night long (with the exception of feedings every three hours). He sleeps all the time and I can take him anywhere! Hopefully this will stick for a while. He was a little jaundice the first week, so we had to go to the doctor three separate times to have him tested, but he is doing really well and is overall, so healthy! We are so happy being parents and are having so much fun learning the ropes!

This week was a good first week home with Declan. My girlfriends came down on Monday and brought lunch (and their babies!), my mom came down on Tuesday, ran a few errands yesterday and then Brooke and I went on a walk today (we're hoping to get her in labor before she is induced tonight!) It is so nice having the summer weather while home with the baby - it feels so good to get out of the house with him, and he LOVES walks!

Luca has been so great with Declan. She is so cute around him - sniffing alot and the occasional lick. There have been a few times where Dec's mouth was open, so he didn't like that too much! Otherwise, Declan is very curious of Luca, and often just stares at her when she is sniffing him. I have added few pics below!

Our little bundle of joy.....

We are happy to announce the birth of Declan Anthony Caswell. He was 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and 20 inches in length. He is such a good baby!

We are still in the hospital, but wanted to post a few pictures. We will write more when we are at home!

No more distractions!

Hartford's maternity leave policy begins two weeks before your due date, so my last day or work was last Wednesday. Now that I don't have work to distract me anymore, all I think about is...."I could go at anytime!!" So...I am trying to keep myself busy, or as busy as my body will allow me right now.

I visited my old Hartford GBD office last week and caught up with everyone.

I had my college roommates over last week for dinner, which consisted of me picking up Papa Murphy's Take N' Bake pizza! It was so fun to see the girls. Mol and Michelle each brought their little ones, so we just hung out, ate pizza, caught up, and played with the babies!

I wish I took more pictures (I'm horrible!) but I did get a couple of Mols and Carter.
