Our little scrubber

Memorial Day

We went over to my parents for Memorial Day and it was such a beautiful day, we spent the entire afternoon outside grilling, playing croquet, and we even got Declan's pool out for a little dip.

I look like I am up to something....

Taking his time, not quite sure what this is....

Declan's favorite - "Whas sat?"

Silly Bristol!

I think I like this pool thing!

A little chilly, but I don't want to get out yet!

Yep, you guessed it "Whas sat?!"
Tony and I are finding ourselves these days constantly saying, "That's the stove. The table. The ceiling fan. The couch. The window. A bridge. Those are cars. Grass. Trees. That's a tree. Yup, a tree.....Ha, you get the point! Oh, I love how curious babies are!

Luca and Bristol chased each other around the yard all day. Bristol looks like she is about to pass out in this picture!

Back in the pool!

Two Harbors

Tony and I decided a week before Memorial Weekend that our family needed to get out of town. Being that we only had a few days before the long holiday, we had a lot of trouble finding what we were looking for, but last minute, we found a beautiful resort in Two Harbors, Larsmont. We will definitely go again!

We rented a cabin right on Lake Superior. The cabins were kind of colonial looking and we had our own walk-out to the beach with a patio, grill, and bonfire with s'mores. It was wonderful and a much needed relaxing vacation for all of us. Declan was such a good boy, and slept great! It must have been the fresh air. Hanging out with Dad before bed.

We tried so hard to get a good pic of Dec and I, but this is the best we could get. Someone was past his bedtime.

Hanging out with his cool shades (that he absolutely loves to wear!)

We made a little stop to a coffee shop in Two Harbors

Getting ready to go home.....

What a fun weekend...I'm pooped!

Declan's Birthday Cake - Take 2

Since Declan was sick on his birthday, he didn't have any interest in his birthday cake. We put it in the freezer and decided to try it one more time this weekend. He wasn't quite sure what to think about it....

Hmmmm.....looks interesting.

Not sure I like this gooey stuff on my fingers

Haha, it's all over my face

Mmmm, pretty tasty!

Nevermind, I am NOT a fan of cake!

Sunday picnic at the park

It was such a beautiful day on Sunday, so Tony and I took Declan to the park for a picnic lunch. As usual, he loved being on the swings and just giggled and kicked his little legs the whole time.

Monkey

Declan has recently learned how to climb up on things. We have a table that Declan keeps his puzzles on, and the other day, he decided he would rather sit on the table and play with his puzzles....oh jeez!

Let's Dish

My mom and I met early Saturday morning for a "Let's Dish" session in Woodbury and had a blast! It was so fun to come home with 12 new meals! Working full time, I am so excited to have so many easy to cook meals to whip up after work. Thanks mom for a fun morning!

Where's Declan?

Declan loved playing, "Where's Decky?" We usually play after I take him out of the bath with a towel, but he developed a new version with the tupperware last weekend.

New Job

Tony accepted a position with a new company, and we are so excited for him to begin a new chapter in his career!
He received a really neat plant from his new employer the other day.
I thought it was a really cool man-plant!
Congratulations Tony!

How big is Decky?

SO BIG!!

12 month stats....

We had Declan's 12 month appointment last week, and as usual, Declan hammed it up for his doctor. He showed him all his new tricks (so big, clapping, waving, etc), and even whipped out the car noises when we tried to distract him with his toy car before he had his shots. He was in such a good mood, we felt so bad that in a matter of minutes, he would have four shots, and a finger poke.

He did pretty well - cried during the pricks, but after they were done, he was happy to walk outside into the sunshine. He is still a growing boy at 23 pounds, 13 oz (50-75%) and he is 2 feet/5 inches (75-90%). It's so funny to refer to him as 2'5'' - so mini!

Declan has turned into quite the character in the last month and has been so funny to interact with. Some of his new things include:

- Waving hello and goodbye
- So big! Raising both arms when we as him, "How big is Decky?"
- Clapping - he was in love with this for about a month, but this has died down a bit recently.
- He loves to point at things and say, "what's that?", which sounds more like, "whas sat?"
- He has discovered tummies, and likes to lift our shirts up so he can point to our tummies. Then, he will lift his shirt up, and point to his belly.
- Some of his favorite foods are pineapples, bananas, goldfish crackers, pancakes, & watermelon
- He is not walking on his own yet, but is getting a little more brave when cruising alongside tables and walls.
- He loves to crack himself up and rough house with Luca. He is understanding the concept of "being gentle" a little more, and him and Luca have become such best buddies.
- He likes to put his hand over his mouth and make babababa noises.
- He has been off of bottles since he was 11 months old, and it was so easy! He didn't even notice we stopped - I think we got lucky!
- He LOVES bath time
- Tony and I wonder if all babies are flexible, because Declan is like pretzel and can wrap his leg around his head - it's so funny!
- He is a true boy and loves to bang his toys on everything.

Happy Mother's Day!

I had a great Mother's Day. I slept in until 7:30 a.m. (yes, that is sleeping in for me), and when I woke up, Declan and Tony were no where in sight. They came home about a half hour later with some Starbucks, flowers, and some other goodies. What a perfect way to start out the morning! Declan was feeling a little better, so we spent the morning playing with his new toys.
Then, my sister Katie hosted a brunch at her new house, which was a lot of fun. After brunch, I had a ton of errands I needed to run, so Tony watched Declan all afternoon so I could run around and get everything done. It was perfect - thanks Tony and Dec for the best Mother's Day!

The other day at daycare, the boys put Declan's hair in a mowhawk, and we thought it was so funny. We thought it would be cute to give him another one for Mother's Day.

Kisses from Bristol - her tongue is so long!
